Jason Kendall had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Minute Maid Field as the Chicago Rastafarians beat the Chainsaw Proctologists by the count of 5 to 4. Chicago scored the deciding run in the 8th inning. After two outs Alex Cora hit a single. Kendall was next and he doubled scoring the run. Chainsaw threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short. Mike Stanton(3-1) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings. Stanton got relief help from Brad Lidge who gained credit for his 12th save. Josh Towers(3-3) suffered the loss. He surrendered 11 hits and 1 walk in 7 and 2/3 innings. Rick Graves was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one. That is what really ticks me off!'
